World Food Day

We teamed up with several key organizational backers of World Food Day (WFD) to generate pledges to host a World Food Day dinner at church or home.  The multi-month email campaign, complete with theologically appropriate hosting materials and resources, resulted in nearly 16k Catholic and evangelical voters pledge to participate in WFD by hosting a meal or WFD event.  We leveraged that support in lobby efforts with the Obama White House, which ultimately was so impressed by the broad faith support that they issued the first Presidential recognition of World Food Day since Reagan.  Building on that success the following year, we expanded added another 11k new individuals who pledged to host a WFD meal at home, 217 churches that used printed materials in church-wide WFD events, and 700 college students on 4 campuses that participated in a meal and hunger program.
